Hydrant flow testing and watermain pressure testing are carried out by controlled discharge from hydrants, scour valves, or test points while measuring static pressure, residual pressure, and flow rates. Pressure losses are recorded under live flow conditions to assess hydraulic performance and network capacity.
Pressure testing confirms the structural integrity of the pipeline, while flow testing verifies that the system can deliver adequate water volume for operational and emergency fire-fighting demands.
